I slept in this morning, and it felt OH SO GOOD!!!
And then, since I had planned to be away for the weekend, I decided to catch up with some of my favorite people.

First stop - Nana's!! Nana is 88. She says anything and everything, and I told her about my blog and this desire to record my last few moments in this decade. In fact, I asked her what advice she would give to those of us headed to our 40s. She said that she had no advice to give, but that whatever the age to just "do your thing". Words to live by.

Second stop - nursing home. Well, you'd think that my grandmother would be in a nursing home, but no, she's still in her own gazillion year old house. But, my dear friend from childhood, who is only a month younger than me, has been nursing-home bound for the last ten yrs or so, stricken at a young age (19) with MS. Sadly, she's bed-ridden and occasionally wheelchair-ridden, but she shows off her smile each and every time I visit. With legions on her brain, no use of her legs and very little use of her arms, she and I pray together before I leave. And what was her prayer tonight?
She didn't pray for healing or for the relief of her pain. Instead, she prayed for her cat who is getting older and steadily failing in health. She asked God to make him feel better, to lessen his pain and to allow him to live as long as she does. May God grant her that wish.
I hate MS.
I love the people who treat it, and of course, those sweet angels who live it.
Another thing I love is New England in the fall. It was a cloudy day, but warm enough to leave the coat behind and crack the window a bit. The leaves are falling at a pretty good clip, but it sure was a lovely drive today.

Last comment. The final picture of Nana "Mom" is so unflattering. Can you delete it. She is so much prettier than that photo!
that final picture isn't a picture, mom...it's a video. click on it to see what she says. she doesn't like being on camera, so i'm quite sure that comes across, but it's advice from my 88 yr old nana!!! gotta save it!!
