28 Days

28 is the second perfect number. It is also a harmonic divisor number, a happy number, a triangular number, a hexagonal number and a centered nonagonal number.
(No idea what all that means, but it's what Wikipedia says)

28 is also how many days left for me until I catapult to 40. I'm excited!! And I'm also really interested in counting down these days. Perhaps one day I will know why.

Meanwhile, it was a good Saturday. I slept in, which wasn't hard to do because I finally went to bed at 4:30am. Yes, this is the latest I've been up in a long, long time. I mean, unless you count timezones and staying up on red-eye flights. Sleep really is a good thing, and having it during the hours of say 11pm-7am are really a healthy thing. I read a book about it. Really. It helps your liver and other organs or something.

They say we women age like fine wine, and I tend to agree. I think you can say that about friendships, too. Tonight felt like sipping a fine wine. I drove about 1 hr north to hang with a dear friend who I haven't seen in 2008. Neither of us realized how long it had been, although Pam was the first to point out that we haven't seen each other this year. She was on a one year plan to work 70-80 hrs a week to save for some updates to her home, and true to her plan....she has almost completed the project, and her crazy work life is over. She's back to a normal, balanced life, working locally and enjoying her children, her family, her home. It was awesome to see her. Her lovely daughter has grown several inches since I saw her last. Time flies!

Here's to drinking that wine of friendship, aged to perfection...
And while we're at it, let's toast to ensuring the time between visits isn't so long.
