three weeks until I turn 40....

3 weeks to be NOT middle age
3 weeks to be in my 30s
3 weeks to say i'm thirty-something
wow.
today was great....still reuniting with my old friend, and wondering what the days ahead will bring. next week is thanksgiving, and i do believe it's my most favorite holiday....yeah, i think it is.
also, please check out http://www.raceto20k.org/ and consider being one of 1,000 people to give $10. It's two Starbucks drinks, 5 gallons of gas or maybe even a few train rides... One of the first trips I plan to make in my 40s is a trip to visit these sweet girls who Thomas introduced me to virtually....if we make 1,000 donations of $10, there is a donor who will match the $10,000....but the time frame is this Sunday, Nov 23 - until day's end. Of course, in terms of giving to these girls, it's never too late or too little....anything helps, especially your prayers.
oh, and speaking of fund raisers....my friend Dave is walking as i type this...walking 12 hrs (9pm Sat to 9am Sun) to raise awareness and funds for Safe Haven - www.safehavenproject.org - the organization I went to Ghana with and to which I've had the pleasure of being involved.... here's his recent media interview from North Dakota:
